If you are living in Lagos or just visiting, you might have heard people mention "Alasia" especially when they are talking about the Lekki-Epe axis. Alasia is a very popular bus stop and community located on the Island part of Lagos State. It is a place that has grown from a quiet roadside area into a busy hub because of its proximity to major institutions and estates.
Whether you are a student going to the Lagos Business School (LBS), a worker heading to one of the many estates nearby, or just someone visiting a friend, knowing how to navigate Alasia is very important. The area is known for its heavy traffic during peak hours, but it remains one of the most accessible points along the long stretch of the Lekki-Epe Expressway. In this guide, we will break down everything you need to know about Alasia, including its local government, how to get there, and what to expect regarding transport fares.
Alasia is located within the Eti-Osa Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. It sits perfectly along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, which is the main artery connecting the Victoria Island/Lekki phase 1 axis to the Epe outskirts.
Geographically, Alasia is positioned just after the popular Ajah Jubilee Bridge if you are coming from the CMS/Lekki Phase 1 side. It serves as a gateway to other areas like Sangotedo, Abijo, and Awoyaya. The terrain is mostly flat, though like many parts of the Island, it can experience some flash flooding during very heavy rainfall. It is surrounded by several developing and fully functional residential estates, making it a prime location for middle-class residents.
If you are coming from CMS or Obalende, you can enter a big "BRT" bus or a regular "Danfo" going to Ajah. Once you get to Ajah, you may need to take another short bus (shuttle) heading towards Sangotedo or Epe. Tell the conductor you will "drop" at Alasia bus stop.
From Oshodi, look for buses going to Ajah. These buses usually pass through the Third Mainland Bridge and go all the way to the Island. Once you cross the Ajah bridge, Alasia is just a few stops away. If you are coming from Iyana Ipaja, you might need to take a bus to Oshodi or CMS first before connecting to Alasia.
If you are coming from the Epe side, you will enter a bus heading towards Ajah or CMS. You will pass through Sangotedo and Abraham Adesanya before reaching Alasia. It will be on your right-hand side.
Transport fares in Lagos change based on the time of day, the weather, and the "mood" of the fuel price. Below is a table showing the estimated fare ranges to Alasia.

To get a direct bus or a well-organized transport to Alasia, these are the best places to board:
Alasia is technically under the Eti-Osa Local Government Area, although it is very close to the border of Ibeju-Lekki.
It is very close. Alasia bus stop is the primary landmark people use to access the Lagos Business School; it is just a short walk or a very brief bike ride away.
There are no dedicated BRT lanes in Alasia like there are in Ikorodu, but the large Blue Buses (regulated by LAMATA) do ply the route from CMS/Obalende and stop at Alasia.
