This guide helps you move smoothly from Iyana School (near Iba/LASU road) all the way to Iyana Oworo. Because of high fuel prices and inflation, transport fares are much higher now. This route takes you across major Lagos highways including the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and the busy Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. Depending on traffic around Mile 2 and Oshodi, the journey can take anywhere from 1 hour to over 2.5 hours.

Walk out from Iyana School to the main road and board a Keke or small bus going to Iyana Iba junction.
At Iyana Iba, enter a big commercial bus (Danfo) going straight to Mile 2.
Drop at Mile 2, cross the pedestrian bridge, and board another Danfo heading towards Oshodi.
From Oshodi Oke, board a final Danfo heading towards Berger or Lagos Island that passes through Iyana Oworo, and tell the conductor you will drop at Iyana Oworo.
Always hold small change (change/legal tender) to pay the conductor to avoid arguments that delay your journey.
Keep your bags zipped and hold them closely to your chest when passing through Mile 2 and Oshodi.
Confirm from the conductor where the bus is stopping before you step your foot inside.
If you are confused, ask shop owners or traffic officials (LASTMA) for directions instead of random boys on the street.
Because of current fuel price inflation, if you use standard Danfo buses, expect to spend between β¦1,500 and β¦2,600 in total. If it rains or if there is heavy traffic, the price can quickly go up.
No, direct commercial buses are very rare for this specific route. You will usually need to break the journey by stopping at Mile 2 and Oshodi before getting a final bus to Iyana Oworo.
It is not advisable to move through these major stops after 9:00 PM if you can avoid it. If you must travel late, stay in well-lit areas, do not show your phone in public, and move quickly to board your bus.
If Mile 2 under-bridge is completely blocked, you can tell your driver to drop you, use the pedestrian bridge to cross over, and look for local commercial motorcycles (Okada) or kekes taking inner routing to bypass the main gridlock.

Best Time to Travel
To beat the worst traffic, leave between 6:00 AM and 6:45 AM for morning trips, or travel during off-peak hours between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Evening rush hour starts from 4:00 PM and can lock down the roads until 9:00 PM.
Safety Rating
Medium - The route is generally safe during the day, but you must be very careful at major interchange points like Mile 2 and Oshodi. Keep your phones and wallets secure from pickpockets, especially when rushing to board a bus. Avoid traveling late at night as street lighting can be poor around Iyana Oworo under-bridge.
BRT / Rail / Water
The Blue Line Rail is available from Mile 2 but it goes towards Lagos Island (Marina), not Iyana Oworo. Standard BRT buses are available at Oshodi Terminal to take you towards the Mainland and Iyana Oworo axis.
