Moving from the Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo all the way to Ibeju-Lekki is a long journey that takes you from the far West of Lagos to the rapidly developing East. Because of the heavy traffic on major choke points like Mile 2, CMS, and the Lekki toll gate area, you need to plan your trip carefully, leave early, and prepare for multiple bus connections if you are using public transport.

Walk out of the LASU main gate to the roadside and board a commercial Danfo bus going to Mile 2.
Drop at Mile 2 and walk up to the Lagos Blue Line Rail station. Buy your ticket using your Cowry card and take the train to Marina Station in CMS.
Exit Marina Station and walk down to the CMS bus park. Board a large Coaster bus or a Danfo heading straight to Ajah.
Drop at Ajah junction, walk under the bridge, and enter another short-distance Danfo or Keke going to your final destination in Ibeju-Lekki.
Make sure your Cowry Card is loaded with enough money before reaching the Mile 2 station to avoid long queues.
Hold small change (Naira notes) in your hand to pay the Danfo conductors so they do not drag 'change' with you at the bus stop.

Safety Rating
Medium - The route is generally safe during the day, but you must be very alert at major connection hubs like Mile 2 and CMS under-bridge. Watch out for pickpockets and 'one-chance' buses, especially in the early mornings and late nights. Always look at the passengers inside a commercial bus before you enter.
BRT / Rail / Water
Yes, you can use the Blue Line Rail from Mile 2 to Marina (CMS) to cut out a massive chunk of road traffic. From CMS, you will rely on standard Danfo buses or coastal coasters down to Lekki.

Lagos-Badagry Expressway
If you leave very early in the morning around 5:30 AM, it can take about 2 to 2.5 hours. However, if you get caught in heavy peak-hour traffic, the journey can easily stretch to 4 or 5 hours.
No, you can only use the Cowry Card for the Blue Line Train from Mile 2 to CMS and on official government BRT buses if you find one. The local Danfo buses and Kekes strictly accept cash.
It is not recommended. Major connection hubs like Mile 2, Oshodi, and CMS under-bridge become very dark and risky after 8:30 PM. Try to wrap up your journey before nightfall.
Always remind the conductor about your change immediately after you enter the bus and before you reach your bus stop. Calmly but firmly call the name of your bus stop and the amount they owe you to avoid stories.
