Best Time to Travel

To beat the heavy morning rush hour, it is best to leave Lekki between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM. If you miss this window, wait until the off-peak period starting from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM when the roads are much clearer. For evening travel from Ogba back to Lekki, try to hit the road before 4:00 PM or delay your movement until after 8:30 PM to avoid spending hours trapped in standstill gridlock.

Safety Rating

Medium - Commuters must remain highly vigilant. Pickpockets operate heavily around crowded connection centers like Oshodi, Ikeja Under-bridge, and Obalende. Keep your phone and wallet safely inside your bag, not your back pocket. Avoid showing expensive items while standing at the bus stop, and never board any commercial bus that looks suspicious or has passengers whispering to one another (locally known as 'One-Chance' vehicles). If you are traveling late in the evening, use major, well-lit terminals rather than isolated dark roadsides.

BRT / Rail / Water

There is no direct BRT or train line that runs straight from Lekki to Ogba. However, you can mix standard transport with the BRT system. You can take a commercial bus from Lekki to Obalende, then take a connecting bus to Oshodi, and from the Oshodi Interchange, you can use the Cowry Card system to board a regulated high-capacity BRT bus that goes towards Ikeja or directly hits parts of the Mainland corridor, reducing your exposure to unfair fare hikes by independent drivers.
