From Maiduguri area in Lagos, take a 'Danfo' (yellow commercial bus), 'Keke' (tricycle), or a local taxi to a major interstate motor park. Good options are Jibowu Bus Terminal (Yaba) or Ojota New Garage (Ojota). Clearly state your destination to the local driver.

At the chosen park, locate the booking office of a reputable transport company like GIGM (God is Good Motors), GUO Transport, or ABC Transport. Purchase your ticket to Abuja (Jabi Park or Utako Park). It's wise to book your ticket a day or two in advance, especially for weekend travel or public holidays.

Arrive at the park at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. Board your luxury bus, which is usually air-conditioned and has comfortable, reclining seats. Ensure your luggage is properly loaded into the bus's compartment. The bus will depart early morning.

The journey will take you through the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu, Ore, Benin-Ore Expressway, Auchi, Okene, and Lokoja before heading to Abuja. There will be at least one major rest stop, typically in Lokoja, where you can stretch, use restrooms, and buy food/drinks.

Expect several security checkpoints along the route, especially around Kogi State and as you approach Abuja. Have a valid ID ready if requested. Road conditions vary; you'll encounter good dual carriageway sections and some areas with potholes.
