Best Time to Travel

To beat the heavy morning rush, you should leave Ogba between 5:30 AM and 6:15 AM. If you miss this window, wait until the post-rush hour period from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. For the evening return journey from Ikoyi, try to depart before 4:00 PM or delay your movement until after 8:00 PM when the intense Third Mainland Bridge bottleneck begins to clear up.

Safety Rating

Medium - Be highly alert at major connection bus stops like Oshodi, Ojota, and Obalende Under-bridge. Keep your mobile phones and wallets zipped inside your bags, especially when boarding early morning or late night buses. Avoid displaying expensive jewelry or handling large cash bundles openly. If you get stuck in standstill traffic on Third Mainland Bridge at night, ensure your car windows are completely wound up and your doors are securely locked to guard against traffic robbers.

BRT / Rail / Water

There is no direct single BRT bus or train line connecting Ogba straight to Ikoyi. However, you can make use of a hybrid connection. You can take a standard bus from Ogba to Ojota or Ikeja, and then hop onto the dedicated blue BRT buses that head down to CMS or Obalende. From Obalende, you can easily walk or take a brief local connection into Ikoyi. The Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line runs from Mile 2 to Marina, which does not directly cover this specific Ogba-Ikoyi corridor.
