Moving from Sabo (Yaba) to Marina (Lagos Island) is a major daily journey for many workers. This trip takes you from the mainland side of Lagos straight across the lagoon to the business district on the island. While it is not a very long distance, traffic can turn a short trip into a stressful journey if you do not plan well.

Walk from Sabo down to the popular Yaba Bus Stop near the rail line.
Look for the conductors shouting 'Marina, Marina!' or 'CMS!' and board the yellow Danfo bus.
The bus will drive through Adekunle and follow the Third Mainland Bridge straight down.
Stay on the bus until the final stop at CMS or Marina under-bridge, then drop.
Enter with small change (β¦200 and β¦500 notes) so you do not have 'change issues' with the conductor.
Hold your phone and wallet tightly inside the commercial bus, especially when people are rushing to enter.

Herbert Macaulay Way
The fastest way is to leave very early (by 6:00 AM) using a direct Danfo from Yaba. If you leave late, a motorcycle/Okada can take you through inner routes to Adekunle, but they are banned on the main highways.
Always hold extra cash. When it rains heavily, fares can jump by 50% to 100%. If the normal fare is β¦1,000, keep at least β¦2,000 ready in your pocket.
There are no direct high-capacity blue BRT buses from Sabo to Marina. However, you can find smaller regulated commercial buses or Lagride vehicles around Yaba that go to the Island.
Marina can get very lonely and dark after 8:30 PM, and pickpockets operate around Yaba under-bridge at night. If you must travel late, using a registered ride-hailing car or moving in a crowd inside a Danfo is highly recommended.
