Moving from Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) to Adeniji Adele is a short trip within Lagos Island. Because the distance is small, you can get there very fast if there is no traffic. You can take a direct commercial bus (Danfo), enter a tricycle (Keke), or use a ride-hailing car like Uber or Bolt.

Walk out of the TBS complex and locate the yellow commercial buses heading towards Lagos Island market or Adeniji.
Board a Danfo bus marked 'Adeniji' or 'Outer Marina / Third Mainland'. Ask the conductor to be sure he is dropping at Adeniji under-bridge.
The bus will move past Catholic Mission Street, pass near Sura Market, and head straight down the road.
Tell the conductor 'Drop' as the bus approaches the Adeniji Adele bus stop, just before the entrance to the Third Mainland Bridge.
Hold your change (change/smaller naira notes) in your hand before you enter the bus so you do not fight with the conductor.
Keep your phones and wallets inside your deep pockets or bag, and hold your bag to your chest when dropping at Adeniji.
If you hear the conductor shouting 'Adeniji Straight', it means he will not stand to pick other passengers along the way, which is faster.
Fares are higher during the evening rush hour when workers are leaving the offices around Lagos Island.
Was this route guide helpful for your commute today?
Medium - The route is generally safe during the day because it is very busy. However, you must look after your bags and phones at the main bus stops. Watch out for pickpockets at TBS and Adeniji under-bridge, especially when the crowd is plenty or when it starts getting dark.
BRT / Rail / Water
There is no direct Lagos Rail Mass Transit or dedicated blue BRT lane running inside this specific short route, but standard yellow commercial Danfo buses and regular LAGride/LSSTF buses handle the corridor perfectly.

Because of current fuel prices, a public Danfo bus will cost you between β¦700 and β¦1,200 depending on the time of day. If you choose a private ride-hailing car, expect to pay between β¦3,500 and β¦5,500.
It is a bit far to walk (about 4.5km) and the roads are very busy with fast cars and commercial vehicles. It is much safer and better to spend a little money on a bus or Keke than to walk through the hot sun or lonely spots.
It is very difficult to recover items lost in a Danfo because they do not have a central tracking system. Your best chance is to immediately go back to the TBS bus park or the Adeniji park union branch and describe the bus and conductor to the transport union officials (Agbero/NURTW).
Yes, traffic usually builds up around Sura Market and Adeniji under-bridge in the afternoon because of trucks loading goods and people trying to connect to the Third Mainland Bridge to go to the Mainland. A trip of 15 minutes can stretch to 45 minutes during bad gridlock.
