Moving from Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on Lagos Island to Osapa London in Lekki is a straight journey down the Lekki-Epe corridor, but heavy traffic can double your travel time if you do not plan well.
Hotspots
Best Time to Travel
Depart between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM for a smooth ride. Avoid leaving between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM because that is when everyone is rushing back from the Island to the Lekki-Ajah axis, causing terrible gridlock.

Walk out of the TBS complex and head over to the main Obalende motor park under-bridge.
Board a direct Danfo bus going to Ajah or Jakande. Tell the conductor you will drop at Osapa or Jakande.
Drop at the Osapa London Bus Stop along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, just before Jakande Roundabout.
Enter a shared Keke Napep or a corporate Marwa tricycle to take you inside the inner streets of Osapa London.
Hold exact change (change/wuru) to avoid fighting with the conductor when it is time to collect your balance.
Keep your eyes open at Obalende park and do not allow strangers to 'help' you carry your bag.
Listen carefully for the conductor shouting 'Jakande! Lekki Proper!' so you do not board the wrong bus going to a different route.
If you cannot find a direct bus to Ajah/Jakande at Obalende, enter a short one to Lekki Phase 1 / Sandfill first, then take another bus from there.

Safety Rating
Medium - Watch your pockets and bags at the crowded TBS park and Obalende under-bridge. When inside the Danfo, keep your phone away from the window to avoid 'one-chance' or traffic robbers, especially when night falls.
BRT / Rail / Water
There is no functional train or dedicated BRT lane running from TBS straight into Osapa London yet. However, standard LBSL public buses and regular Danfos cover the route frequently.

Because of recent fuel price increases, if you use a standard Danfo bus, prepare to spend between β¦1,200 and β¦1,800. If you prefer a ride-hailing car, it will cost you anywhere from β¦5,500 to β¦8,500 depending on the time of day.
Yes, it works! You can use your Cowry Card to board the large blue LBSL buses inside the TBS terminal heading down towards Lekki and Ajah.
The worst bottle-necks are usually around the Lekki Toll Gate axis and the Jakande Roundabout under-bridge. Traffic easily builds up there during evening rush hours.
It is moderately safe, but you must be highly alert. Avoid standing alone at the Obalende under-bridge or Osapa bus stop past 9:00 PM. If you must move late, using a registered ride-hailing car is much safer than entering a random Danfo.
