Best Time to Travel

To avoid the worst of Lagos traffic, travel early in the morning (6:00 AM - 7:30 AM) or during the late morning/early afternoon (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM). Evening rush hour (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM) will be heavily congested, significantly increasing travel time.

Safety Rating

Medium. Victoria Island is generally considered safer than many other parts of Lagos, but it's important to be aware of your surroundings. For public transport, 'one-chance' incidents are rare for such short intra-VI trips but can occur anywhere. Always use well-lit, busy bus stops and avoid empty or suspicious vehicles, especially at night.

BRT / Rail / Water

BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) buses operate along parts of Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, which is close to Ahmadu Bello Way, offering a structured public transport option. There is currently no rail service available for this short intra-Victoria Island route.
