Lekki Phase 2 is one of the most popular residential and commercial hubs on the Lagos Island. While many people are familiar with Lekki Phase 1 because of its nightlife and offices, Lekki Phase 2 is known for being more organized and slightly more peaceful. It is a fast-developing area that attracts a lot of people looking for a good place to live or set up a business away from the heavy noise of the city center.
If you are planning to visit or move to this area, you need to understand how the transport system works. Navigating the Lekki-Epe Expressway can be tricky if you don't know the right bus stops to "drop" or where to "enter bus" to reach your destination quickly. This guide will show you exactly where Lekki Phase 2 is and how much you should expect to pay for transport.
Lekki Phase 2 is located within the Eti-Osa Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. It is situated further down the Lekki-Epe Expressway, past the popular Chevron Drive and VGC (Victoria Garden City). It shares boundaries with areas like Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, and Ogombo.
The terrain is mostly flat, and the area is well-planned with several gated estates. Unlike the "old" Lekki, Phase 2 is where you find many modern housing projects and schools. If you are coming from the Lagos Mainland, you will pass through the Lekki Toll Gate and the Conservation Toll Gate before you get to the heart of Lekki Phase 2.
To help you know when you have arrived, look out for these major landmarks:
Getting to Lekki Phase 2 depends on where you are coming from. Most commuters use the "Danfo" buses, "Korope" (mini-buses), or ride-hailing services like Bolt and Uber.
If you are at CMS or Obalende, you can enter a direct bus going to Ajah. Tell the driver you are "dropping" at Abraham Adesanya or Lekki Phase 2 gate. The buses usually follow the main expressway.
From Oshodi, you can take a bus to CMS or Obalende first, then enter another bus to Ajah. Alternatively, some buses go from Oshodi to Ajah directly via the Third Mainland Bridge. From Berger, you must first get to CMS or Oshodi before heading towards the Island.
Lekki Phase 2 is very close to Ajah. You can enter a short-trip bus or a tricycle (Keke) from Ajah Underbridge that will take you straight into the various estates within Lekki Phase 2.
Transport fares in Lagos change based on the time of day and the weather. If it is raining or it is "rush hour" (when everyone is going to or coming from work), the prices will go up.
