If you have ever traveled through the Muritala Muhammed International Airport or passed through the busy Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, you have likely heard of Ajao Estate. Ajao Estate is one of the most popular residential and commercial hubs in Lagos State. It is well-known because of its "next-door" proximity to the international airport, making it a favorite spot for travelers, airline staff, and business owners.
At Faster.ng, we understand that navigating Lagos can be tricky if you don't know the exact "junction" to drop or which bus to enter. Ajao Estate is a mix of quiet residential streets and busy commercial roads. Whether you are moving in as a new resident or you just have a business meeting at one of the many hotels in the area, this guide will show you everything you need to know about the location, transport routes, and what to expect.
Ajao Estate is located within the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. It is strategically positioned along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway. It shares boundaries with the Lagos International Airport (MMIA) to the west, Mafoluku to the north, and Isolo/Ejigbo to the east via the popular "Canoe" link bridge.
The terrain is mostly flat, and the estate is divided into several zones. The main entrance is usually accessed through the Airport Road or the 7&8 Bus Stop along the expressway. Because it is so close to the airport, the area is very built-up with many hotels, warehouses, and schools.
Knowing these landmarks will help you tell the conductor where you are going:
Getting to Ajao Estate is relatively easy because it sits along major Lagos transport arteries. Here is how to get there from common locations:
If you are at Oshodi Underbridge or the Terminal, enter a bus going towards Mile 2 or Cele Express. Tell the conductor you will "drop" at 7&8 Bus Stop or Ajao Estate. From there, you can enter a Keke Marwa (tricycle) that goes inside the estate.
Enter a bus heading towards Oshodi. You will need to drop at the Ajao Estate bus stop. Since this is on the other side of the expressway, you will use the pedestrian bridge to cross over into the estate entrance.
You don't need to go through the expressway. You can enter a bus or Keke heading to "Canoe." Once you cross the Canoe Bridge, you are already at the back entrance of Ajao Estate.
Please note that fares in Lagos change based on the time of day, rain, or fuel price updates. Below are the estimated ranges:

| Oshodi to Ajao Estate (7&8) | Yellow Bus (Danfo) | β¦300 - β¦500 |
| Cele Express to Ajao Estate | Yellow Bus (Danfo) | β¦400 - β¦600 |
| Ejigbo (Canoe) to Ajao Estate | Keke Marwa / Small Bus | β¦200 - β¦400 |

To get a direct bus to Ajao Estate or the nearest bus stop, use these parks:
1. Watch Your Belongings at 7&8: The bus stops along the expressway can be very crowded. Keep your phones and wallets inside your bag, especially at night.
2. Use Pedestrian Bridges: The Oshodi-Apapa expressway is very fast. Never try to "dash" across the road; always use the bridge at Ajao Estate or 7&8.
3. Avoid Late Nights at Canoe: While the Canoe bridge is a shortcut, it can be lonely at very late hours. Try to use this route before 8:00 PM.
4. Confirm Fare: Always ask the conductor "How much?" before you enter the bus to avoid arguments when you want to "drop."
