Founded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the American University of Nigeria (AUN) is located in the northeastern city of Yola, the capital of Adamawa State. It is the first American-style university in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The university is situated along Lamido Zubairu Way, in the Jimeta area of Yola, Adamawa State.
Yola is best reached by air. There are daily flights from Lagos (LOS) and Abuja (ABV) via airlines like Air Peace, Aero, and Max Air. From the Yola International Airport, AUN is a short 10-15 minute taxi ride away.
