From Ikwerre Road Axis (e.g., Mile 1, Mile 2, Mile 3, Mile 4)

The Ikwerre Road axis is another major route in Port Harcourt. From these points, you will also typically head towards Rumuokoro or the East-West Road directly.

• **By Keke or Taxi:** A Keke or taxi can take you directly to the medical centre from anywhere along this axis.

**Key Landmark to Look Out For:** The most important landmark is the East-West Road itself. Eliozu Medical Centre is a prominent building along this major road, often with clear signage. If you get to Eliozu Junction, you are very close.

Current Fare Estimates Table (2026)

Transport fares in Port Harcourt can vary based on fuel prices, time of day, and the specific driver. The prices below are estimates for 2026 and are subject to change. It's always a good idea to confirm with the driver before you set off.

Best Departure Points (Parks/Terminals)

While Port Harcourt doesn't have large, centralized "parks" in the same way some other Nigerian cities do for intra-city travel, there are major junctions and bus stops where you can easily find transport going towards Eliozu:

• **Rumuokoro Junction:** This is arguably the most central and busiest transport hub in Obio/Akpor. From Rumuokoro, you can easily find buses and Kekes heading directly to Eliozu along the East-West Road. It's a key interchange point.
• **Rumuola Junction:** Another significant junction along Aba Road. You can get buses here going towards Rumuokoro, from where you can connect to Eliozu.
• **Artillery Junction:** Similar to Rumuola, Artillery offers buses heading towards Rumuokoro.
• **Mile 3 or Mile 4 Park/Junction:** These are major points along Ikwerre Road where you can find transport going towards Rumuokoro or sometimes directly to parts of Eliozu.

When you get to any of these points, simply ask for "Eliozu" or "Eliozu Medical Centre" and the locals or drivers will point you in the right direction. Always specify you are going to the medical centre to avoid being dropped at a general Eliozu bus stop if it's not directly in front of the facility.

Safety and Travel Tips

Traveling in any city requires some level of awareness. Here are some tips for a smooth journey to Eliozu Medical Centre:

• **Travel During Daylight:** If possible, especially for your first visit, try to travel during daylight hours. This makes it easier to spot landmarks and feel more secure.
• **Confirm Fares:** Always ask for the fare before you enter a Keke or taxi. For buses, listen to what other passengers are paying or ask the conductor.
• **Keep Valuables Secure:** Be mindful of your belongings, especially in crowded bus stops or while in transit. Keep phones and wallets in front pockets or secure bags.
• **Use Reputable Services:** If using ride-hailing apps, ensure the vehicle and driver match the details provided in the app.
• **Stay Alert:** Pay attention to your surroundings. If you feel uncomfortable, trust your instincts and alight at a safe, busy spot.
• **Ask for Directions:** Don't hesitate to ask locals for directions if you are unsure. Most Port Harcourt residents are friendly and willing to help.
• **Have Change Ready:** For bus and Keke fares, having smaller denominations of Naira can be helpful, as drivers sometimes claim not to have change for large notes.
