If you are looking for a place that is currently seeing a lot of residential development in Lagos, Igbo Elerin is definitely on the list. Many people moving towards the outskirts of Lagos to build their own houses or find affordable rent often hear about this area. However, because Lagos is very big, it can be confusing to know exactly where it is or how to get there without spending too much on transport.
At Faster.ng, we understand that navigating Lagos transport can be a "strong thing." That is why we have put together this detailed guide to help you find your way to Igbo Elerin, understand the landmarks around the area, and know the current fare ranges so you don't pay more than necessary.
Igbo Elerin is located in the Ojo Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. It is situated along the axis that connects the popular Lagos-Badagry Expressway to the inner parts of Iba and Okokomaiko. The terrain is mostly flat, and while some parts were previously swampy, many areas have been filled and developed into busy residential estates.
Igbo Elerin shares borders with areas like Okokomaiko, Iba, and Ishashi. It is also not too far from the Lagos State University (LASU) main campus in Ojo. Because it is close to the border of Lagos and Ogun State (Agbara side), it serves as a major residential hub for people working in the Agbara Industrial Estate and the Ojo Alaba International Market.
Getting to Igbo Elerin depends on where you are coming from in Lagos. The two most common "entry points" are Okokomaiko and Iyana-Iba.
1. From Mile 2 / Alaba: If you are coming from Mile 2, you will need to enter a bus going towards Okokomaiko or Agbara. You will "drop" at Okokomaiko bus stop. From there, you can easily find Keke Napep (tricycles) or small buses that go straight into Igbo Elerin road.
2. From Oshodi / Iyana-Ipaja: If you are coming from the Oshodi axis, your best bet is to enter a bus going to Iyana-Iba. Once you drop at Iyana-Iba, you can take another short bus or Keke that passes through the Iba-Igbo Elerin road. This route is often faster if the Lagos-Badagry expressway has heavy "hold-up" at the Volks or Barracks area.
Transport fares in Lagos change based on the time of day and the weather (rainy days usually mean higher prices). Below is a range of what you should expect to pay:
| Route | Transport Mode | Fare Range (β¦) |

| Mile 2 to Okokomaiko | Commercial Bus (Danfo) | β¦600 - β¦1,000 |
