If you are looking for a place that is quietly tucked away from the main noise of central Lagos but still close to big markets, then Igbo Iroko is one of those places. Igbo Iroko is a growing community located in the Ojo axis of Lagos State. Many people know this area because it is close to the popular Alaba International Market and the Lagos State University (LASU).
In recent years, more people have started moving to Igbo Iroko because house rents are relatively cheaper compared to places like Surulere or Ikeja. However, navigating the transport route to this area can be a bit tricky if you don't know the right "junction" to drop. Whether you are going there for business or to visit a friend, this guide will show you exactly how to reach Igbo Iroko without stress.
Igbo Iroko is situated within the Ojo Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. This part of Lagos is known for its proximity to the water and the busy Lagos-Badagry Expressway. Igbo Iroko sits near other popular neighborhoods like Ajangbadi, Shibiri, and Iyana Iba.
The terrain is mostly flat, but like many parts of Ojo, some inner streets can get muddy during the heavy rainy season. It is bordered by the creeks leading towards the Badagry area on one side and the busy commercial hubs of Ojo on the other. If you are coming from the city center, you will likely pass through the Ojo Military Cantonment area before reaching the turn-off for Igbo Iroko.
To get to Igbo Iroko, you usually have to pass through the Iyana Iba or Okokomaiko axis. Most people use the Iyana Iba-Ajangbadi Road to access the community. Once you enter a bus going towards Ajangbadi, you can tell the conductor you are dropping at the Igbo Iroko junction.
