If you have been following the real estate boom in Lagos, you must have heard about Bogije. It is one of the fastest-growing residential and commercial hubs along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Many people looking for affordable housing or land investment are moving towards this axis because it is relatively quieter than the busy parts of Lekki Phase 1 or Ajah.
Bogije is no longer the "far place" people used to call it. Today, it is a bustling community with modern estates, schools, and markets. Whether you are planning to visit a friend, look at a property, or you just want to know how much it costs to enter a bus to the area, this guide will provide all the details you need to navigate Bogije like a local.
Bogije is located in the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. It sits perfectly along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. If you are coming from the Lagos Island side (CMS/Victoria Island), Bogije comes after you pass places like Sangotedo, Abijo, and Awoyaya. If you reach Lakowe or Eleko Junction, you have gone past Bogije.
The terrain in Bogije is mostly flat, though some parts are prone to being swampy during the heavy rainy season, which is common in the Ibeju-Lekki axis. However, many developed estates in the area have good drainage systems. It is bordered by Awoyaya to the west and Lakowe to the east.
When you are inside a bus and want to "drop" at Bogije, or if you are describing the place to a driver, these landmarks are very helpful:
Getting to Bogije is straightforward because it lies on a major highway. Depending on where you are coming from, you might need to take one or two buses.
From CMS or Obalende, look for buses going to "Ajah" or "Epe". Some big Coaster buses go straight to Epe; you can enter those and tell the conductor you will drop at Bogije. If you enter an Ajah bus, you will need to drop at Ajah and take another short trip.
This is the most common route. At Ajah (under the bridge or the park), you will see many small "Korope" (minibuses) or white buses going to Bogije, Lakowe, or Epe. Simply enter and tell them you are dropping at Bogije.
From Oshodi, you can take a bus to Ajah. Once you get to Ajah, follow the steps above. If you are coming from Berger, you might need to get to CMS first or find a bus going to Ajah directly via the Third Mainland Bridge.
Please note that transport fares in Lagos change based on the time of day, rain, or fuel price hike. Below are the estimated ranges for a one-way trip.
