1. Benin City to Lokoja (Kogi State)

From Benin City, you will typically head north-east. The route passes through towns like Auchi in Edo State and then into Kogi State. This segment of the journey is characterized by a mix of good roads and some sections that might be less smooth. You'll encounter hilly terrains as you approach the confluence town of Lokoja, where the River Niger and River Benue meet. Lokoja is often a major stop for travelers to stretch, eat, or use facilities.

2. Lokoja to Abuja (Federal Capital Territory)

After Lokoja, the journey continues north towards Abuja. This part of the road is generally well-maintained, as it's a major federal highway leading to the nation's capital. You will pass through towns like Abaji and Gwagwalada before reaching the outskirts of Abuja. While Abuja is not directly on the path to Kano, buses often pass through or make a brief stop at parks on the city's periphery.

3. Abuja to Kaduna (Kaduna State)

From Abuja, you will head north again, directly to Kaduna. This is another major highway, and the landscape gradually changes from the more developed FCT environment to the expansive savanna plains of Kaduna State. Kaduna is a significant city and a major transit point for travelers heading further north. Many transport companies have terminals here, and it's another common stop for refreshment.

4. Kaduna to Kano (Kano State)

The final leg of the journey takes you from Kaduna directly to Kano. This stretch is also a major highway, with relatively good road conditions. As you approach Kano, you'll notice the distinctive architecture and the increasing density of commercial activities that define this ancient city. The journey ends at one of the many motor parks within Kano metropolis.
