Locate the Damaturu Main Motor Park or a specific park for transport companies (e.g., local branch of Peace Mass Transit or NURTW park). This is where you'll find buses (usually Hiace or similar) or shared Sienna vehicles heading towards Kano.

Book your ticket. It's common to book a trip to Kano first, as direct Rano vehicles might be scarce. Confirm luggage allowance and any extra charges before paying.

Board your vehicle (Hiace bus or Sienna). Vehicles typically depart once they are full. The journey starts by exiting the park on an unnamed road, then turning right onto a local connector (Gombi - Baromari Road) that quickly leads to the main highway.

Your vehicle will then join the major Kano-Maiduguri Highway (A3). You will stay on this highway for a significant portion of the journey, navigating various roundabouts and junctions, and passing through towns like Potiskum.

Expect several security checkpoints along the highway. Have your identification ready and cooperate with security personnel. Road conditions on the Kano-Maiduguri Highway are generally fair to good, though some sections may have potholes.

As you approach Kano, the vehicle will continue on the Kano-Maiduguri Highway, until it reaches an off-ramp leading towards the Rano area.

After taking the off-ramp, the vehicle will turn left onto an unnamed road, then at the end of that road, turn right onto the Rano - Sumaila road. This is the direct route towards Rano town.

Continue on the Rano - Sumaila road, navigating through some local turns and roundabouts within the Rano area, until you arrive at the main motor park in Rano.

From Rano Motor Park, you can take a Keke Napep (tricycle) or local motorcycle taxi (Okada) to your final destination within Rano.
