Best Time to Travel

To avoid Lagos's notorious traffic, depart from Lawanson very early in the morning (before 5:30 AM) on weekdays. For the interstate part, starting your journey between 6 AM and 8 AM is ideal to arrive at CMS before dusk. Avoid traveling on Fridays afternoon/evening or Sunday evenings on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway if possible, due to heavy traffic.

Safety Rating

Medium. While major highways are generally safer during the day, isolated incidents can occur. Interstate travel, especially at night, carries a higher risk of security issues like robbery or vehicle breakdowns in remote areas. Always use reputable transport companies and avoid traveling alone in unmarked vehicles. 'One-chance' syndicates operate, particularly in Lagos, so be vigilant when boarding public transport.

BRT / Rail / Water

Within Lagos, BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) is available on certain routes, which can be useful for connecting to major interstate parks. For example, you could use BRT from Fadeyi to Berger. However, there is no direct BRT or continuous rail service that covers the entire Lawanson to CMS route. The Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail exists but terminates in Ibadan and does not extend to CMS for a continuous journey.
