Moving from Abijo ( Lekki-Epe axis) to Palmgrove (Mainland axis) means crossing from the Island to the Mainland. This is a very long distance journey that takes you through major traffic zones like Ajah, Lekki Toll Gate, and the 3rd Mainland Bridge. Because of fuel price increases, you need to budget well and plan your movement carefully to avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic.

Walk or take a short Keke from your house in Abijo to the main Abijo Bus Stop on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
Board a big yellow bus (Danfo) going directly to Ajah and drop at the Ajah under-bridge.
From Ajah, enter a direct coastal Danfo or Coaster bus going to CMS or Obalende.
From Obalende, walk to the Mainland park and board a direct Danfo going to Yaba or Ojota, and tell the driver you will drop at Palmgrove Bus Stop along Ikorodu Road.
Always enter buses with accurate change (change/loose money) to avoid fights with conductors.
If you cannot find an Obalende bus at Ajah, enter a bus stopping at Costain or CMS, then connect to Palmgrove from there.
Keep your phone inside your bag when the bus is in slow-moving traffic around Yaba or Palmgrove under-bridge.
Ask the conductor clearly if the bus is going 'Straight' or doing 'Maroko drop-off' before you enter.
If you are using public Danfo buses, hold at least β¦4,000 to cover the fares and any minor emergency price changes. If you want to use a ride-hailing app, budget between β¦16,000 and β¦23,000 depending on the time of day.
No, you cannot use the Cowry Card for the first part of the journey because Danfo buses from Abijo to Ajah and CMS only accept cash. You can only use your Cowry Card when you get to the BRT terminals at CMS or Obalende to catch the bus to Palmgrove.
The fastest way is to take a Danfo or express car from Abijo straight to CMS, and then enter the BRT bus from CMS to Palmgrove. The BRT uses a special lane, so it will bypass all the crazy traffic on Ikorodu road.
It is not very advisable to travel past 9:00 PM. The areas around Ajah under-bridge and Palmgrove bus stop can become dangerous with street boys (area boys) looking for bags and phones to snatch. If you must travel late, use a registered taxi or private ride-hailing service.

Best Time to Travel
To beat the morning rush, leave Abijo between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM. If you miss this window, wait until 10:00 AM when the initial Island traffic reduces. For evening travel, avoid moving between 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM because that is when workers are returning from Victoria Island and Lagos Island to the Mainland.
Safety Rating
Medium - The route is generally safe during the day because it is always busy. However, you must be very careful at night or early in the morning around Ajah under-bridge and Palmgrove bus stop. Watch out for pickpockets who mix with the crowd to steal phones and wallets. Keep your bags closed and hold your phone tightly when boarding the yellow buses.
BRT / Rail / Water
There is no direct BRT or train line from Abijo to Palmgrove. However, once you cross the 3rd Mainland Bridge and get to Obalende, CMS, or Yaba, you can easily connect to the Ikorodu Road BRT corridor which stops directly at Palmgrove.
