Moving from Trade Fair to Ago Palace involves connecting from the Lagos-Badagry corridor over to the Apapa-Oshodi axis before heading down into Ago Palace Way. It is a very busy route used by thousands of traders and workers every day. Because of ongoing road structures and heavy commercial movement, your travel time depends heavily on the time of day you move. By using standard yellow commercial buses (Danfo) and tricycles (Keke), you can safely navigate this journey without spending too much money.

Best Time to Travel
The absolute best time to move is between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM when the morning rush has cleared and traders have already settled at the markets. If you must travel in the morning, try to leave Trade Fair before 6:30 AM to beat the heavy build-up at Maza Maza and Mile 2.

Walk to the main Trade Fair bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and board a big yellow bus (Danfo) going to Mile 2.
Drop at Mile 2 Under-bridge, walk across the pedestrian bridge to the other side facing the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
Board another Danfo going towards Oshodi or Cele, and tell the conductor you will drop at Cele Bus Stop.
Cross over to the Ago Palace Way entrance at Cele and enter a direct Keke or mini-bus (Korope) going deep into Ago Palace Way.
Always carry smaller naira notes like β¦200 and β¦500 to avoid 'change' issues with the Danfo conductor.
Listen carefully to the conductor when they call destinations so you do not board an express bus that will skip Cele Bus Stop.
Keep your luggage small if you want to fit comfortably into the Keke at Cele without paying for an extra seat.
If you are traveling late at night, join the crowded buses rather than waiting for an empty one to avoid security risks.

Safety Rating
Medium - Be very alert at Mile 2 Under-bridge and Cele Bus Stop, especially in the early mornings (5:00 AM - 6:30 AM) and late evenings (after 7:30 PM). Keep your phones and wallets inside your bags. Do not hold your phone carelessly when standing at the bus stop or sitting near the window in a slow-moving Danfo to avoid 'one-chance' operators and pickpockets.
BRT / Rail / Water
The Lagos Blue Rail Line runs from Mile 2 towards Marina, which helps if you are coming from further down, but it does not directly link into Ago Palace. There is no dedicated BRT lane running directly into Ago Palace, so you will mostly rely on standard Danfos and Kekes.

Lagos-Badagry Expressway
If you are using public commercial buses (Danfo) and Keke, the total cost will run between β¦1,500 and β¦2,300. If you decide to use a ride-hailing app or a private taxi, it will cost you between β¦6,500 and β¦9,500 depending on the traffic density.
Mile 2 is moderately safe during broad daylight because of the high volume of people. However, you must be extra careful under the bridge in the early morning and after dark. Avoid carrying your laptop bag carelessly or showing expensive jewelry.
The fastest way is to take a bus that uses the Mile 2 flyover bridge directly to Cele Bus Stop, bypassing the chaotic ground-level junction at Maza Maza. Leaving before 6:30 AM or after 10:00 AM also slashes travel time significantly.
Kekes run very frequently until about 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM. After 10:00 PM, the tricycles reduce drastically, and you will have to rely on local commercial buses (Danfos) or regular town taxis which might charge a higher night premium.
