Depending on the time of day, traffic can change a short 35-minute drive into a long 2-hour journey.

Best Time to Travel
To beat the heavy morning rush heading to the Island, leave Unilag before 6:00 AM or wait until after 10:30 AM when the initial traffic dies down. If you are returning from Osapa London to Unilag in the evening, try to leave before 4:00 PM or wait until after 8:30 PM to avoid getting stuck on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and Third Mainland Bridge.

Walk or take a campus shuttle from your faculty to the Unilag Main Gate. From the Main Gate, board a short-distance Danfo bus heading straight to Yaba Bus Stop.
At Yaba Bus Stop, look for the drivers calling out 'Obalende' or 'CMS'. Board a Danfo going to Obalende. The bus will ply Herbert Macaulay Way and cross over via the bridge.
Drop at Obalende and walk to the Lekki/Ajah park under the bridge. Board a big commercial Coaster bus or a Danfo heading towards Ajah. Inform the conductor that you will drop at Osapa London bus stop.
Drop at the Osapa London Bus Stop along the expressway. From the junction, you can enter a local Keke (tricycle) or a shared short-distance ride to take you deep inside the Osapa London estate.
Always hold exact change ('change' or 'less money') before boarding the Danfo to avoid rough arguments with conductors.
Keep your bags zipped and hold your phone tightly when walking through Yaba and Obalende parks.
Ask the conductor twice if the bus is truly stopping at Osapa before you enter, so they do not drop you off too early at Lekki Phase 1.
If you are traveling with heavy bags, the conductors might charge you an extra fee for your luggage space.

Safety Rating
Medium - The route is generally safe during daylight hours. However, commuters must be extra careful at major transport hubs like Yaba Bus Stop, Obalende, and CMS. Watch out for pickpockets who mix with the crowd, and avoid showing your phone or cash openly inside public buses. Late-night travel is not recommended due to one-chance buses and isolated walking paths near the Lekki expressway.
BRT / Rail / Water
There is no direct BRT corridor or commercial rail line connecting Unilag straight to Osapa London. However, you can use regulated large buses (LBSL) from Yaba to Obalende or CMS, and then enter another standard commercial bus or coaster bus heading to Lekki.

Due to current fuel prices and transport inflation, if you are using standard Danfo buses, the total cost will be between β¦1,800 and β¦2,700. If you choose an express setup or use ride-hailing apps, it can range from β¦3,800 up to β¦15,000 depending on traffic surge and comfort.
The fastest way is to leave very early in the morning (by 5:30 AM). If you miss that window, your best option is to take a direct express bus from CMS that uses the flyover bridges to skip the crowded inner-street bottlenecks.
Yes, there are plenty of Kekes and local shuttle buses waiting at the Osapa London junction. They can take you deep into the estate streets for about β¦300 to β¦400 for a shared ride, or β¦1,000+ if you want a personal 'drop'.
Keep your windows wound up if you are in a private car or ride-hailing vehicle. If you are inside a Danfo, keep your phone out of sight, secure your wallet, and do not patronize roadside hawkers when the traffic is at a complete standstill to avoid 'traffic robbers'.
